Do you offer wide or extra-wide footwear?Updated an hour ago

Our shoes are designed with a naturally wider anatomical toe box to allow for comfort, proper toe splay, and natural foot movement. While this provides more room than many traditional athletic shoes, our standard width is not specifically designed to accommodate specialty widths such as 3E, 4E, or similar widths.

Because overall foot width and volume can vary significantly, these measurements are provided as a general reference rather than a guarantee of fit.

For a faster fit recommendation, we suggest using the AI Sizer tool available on each footwear product page. It uses your information to help determine the best size based on the specific shoe model.

Should I size up or down?

Sizing can vary depending on the shoe model, foot shape, foot volume, and your preferred fit:

  • Pursuit 1: This style runs slightly longer in the toe box compared to some of our other footwear. We recommend sizing down ½ size if you prefer a more secure, performance-focused fit. If you prefer additional room or a more relaxed fit, your normal athletic shoe size may be preferred.
  • Savage 1 Trainer: We generally recommend sizing up ½ size from your typical athletic shoe size, especially if you have wider feet, longer toes, or prefer additional room.
  • Primitive 1: We recommend ordering your normal size for a standard fit. Because of its anatomical toe box, it intentionally provides additional room through the forefoot. If you prefer a tighter, more performance-focused fit, some customers choose to size down ½ size. If you're coming from the Savage 1, the Primitive 1 fits approximately ½ size larger, so sizing down ½ size may provide a comparable fit.

If you have wider feet, are between sizes, have longer toes, bunions, swelling, or use orthotics/aftermarket insoles, sizing up ½ size may provide additional room. Our insoles are removable in all footwear, allowing customers to remove the original insole and use their own orthotics or aftermarket insoles if preferred.

Individual fit can vary, so our AI Sizer and product-specific fit notes are the best starting points.

Will these work for extra-wide feet?

Customers with wider feet often appreciate the additional room provided by our anatomical toe box. However, if you typically wear a specialty width such as 3E or 4E, our standard width may not provide the same overall fit or volume you are accustomed to.

It's also important to distinguish between toe-box width and overall shoe width. Our shoes provide additional room through the forefoot to allow natural toe splay, but that does not mean the entire shoe is equivalent to a specialty extra-wide width.

If you use orthotics or aftermarket insoles, we recommend going up ½ size to help accommodate the additional volume. Since our insoles are removable, you can replace the original footbed with an orthotic or aftermarket insole that better suits your needs. Keep in mind that changing the insole can affect the fit and available volume inside the shoe.

What if I need additional arch support?

Our footwear is designed around the intended construction and support characteristics of each model, but individual arch-support needs vary from person to person.

All of our footwear features removable insoles, so customers who use orthotics or prefer a different level of support can remove the original insole and use an aftermarket insole or orthotic that better matches their individual needs. If using orthotics, we recommend going up ½ size to help accommodate the additional volume inside the shoe.

Additional footwear notes

  • Patriot 1: Features one of our widest toe boxes. We recommend ordering your normal size unless you have specific fit considerations, wear orthotics, or prefer extra room.
  • Savage 1 Classic: These feature leather/suede construction and will initially feel stiffer than our original Savage 1 Trainers. They are designed primarily for everyday wear, travel, casual use, and rest days, rather than high-intensity training. We do notrecommend wearing the Savage 1 Classics in the gym, as lifting, equipment contact, and repeated training movements can damage the leather/suede materials and affect their appearance and longevity.
    • The leather and suede will soften and break in with normal wear over time. For workouts, lifting, and training sessions, we recommend the Savage 1 Trainer or Primitive 1 instead.
  • Primitive 1: Features a zero-drop platform, anatomical toe box, minimal cushioning, and a 3.0 mm molded/removable footbed that provides light cushioning without compromising ground feel. If you're new to zero-drop or barefoot-style footwear, we recommend gradually incorporating them into your training to allow your feet and lower legs time to adapt.
  • Pursuit 1: Features a more traditional running-shoe construction with a 10mm heel-to-toe drop and additional cushioning, making it better suited for longer-distance running and higher-impact activity than our training-focused models.

What if the shoes don't fit?

Since every foot is different, fit can vary based on foot shape, width, volume, arch, toe length, and personal preference.

We offer free size exchanges for U.S. addresses on eligible items if the size you receive doesn't work out. Please review the applicable return and exchange terms before sending an item back.

We are also continuing to explore additional sizing options and future footwear developments to better serve a wider range of customers.
